Hunt Regional Healthcare in Greenville TX is looking for a PRN Registered Nurse.  Responsible for the provision and documentation of professional nursing services to agency patients in accordance with an established physician plan of care and in compliance with applicable licensure/certification requirements the Texas Register Nurse Practice Act and the agency's policies and procedures.


• Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.

• Conduct reflects HMHD’s values and a commitment to HMHD’s Code of Conduct.

• Attends the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs.

• Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program.

• Complies with all HIPAA standards.

• Works independently and demonstrates problem-solving skills.

• Attention to detail and completes tasks according to established policies and procedures; avoids errors.

• Performs patient admission assessment and manages/coordinates all aspects of service delivery.

• Makes initial nursing visit, completes a thorough nursing assessment and submits documentation within 24-48 hours of visit.

• Maintains communication regarding patient progress with physician, supervisor, staff and family members as appropriate to the situation.

• Documents all nursing observations, interventions and evaluations in a concise, accurate   and timely manner.

• Obtains subsequent orders, contacts physician as appropriate.

• Attends care conference.

• Uses supplies appropriately and demonstrates a cost-conscious awareness by practicing careful, efficient and non-wasteful use of supplies.

• Participates in teaching patients, family members and/or significant others as appropriate to the physician-ordered plan of care.

• Refers to other members of the health care team to meet specific learning needs of the patient as appropriate.

• Delivers safe care at all times that is in concert with physician orders, home health policy and established nursing care standards.

• Completes assigned visits daily.

• Performs patient admission assessment and manages/coordinates all aspects of service delivery.

• Exhibits knowledge of technical skills required to implement safe nursing care; pursues education to broaden knowledge base.

• Carries out procedures in accordance with infection control policies at all times; observes standard precautions.

• Understands the patients' medical record is a legal document and maintains accurate documentation.

• Demonstrates clinical competence in areas of assigned nursing responsibility; approaches clinical responsibilities in a professional manner.


• Minimum Work Experience:  Two years of experience in an acute care setting with experience in geriatric and medical/surgical patient care, desired.  

• Required Licenses/Certifications:  Registered nurse with valid licensure through State Board of Nursing in the State of Texas. Valid driver's license in the state where employed, with available and dependable transportation and proof of current automobile liability insurance.

• Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and good customer service skills. Ability to meet minimum agency hiring standards which include evidence of current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate and willingness to perform such procedures in the home setting.
